Teppei Syokudo: Japanese bowls at Fusionopolis

Overall

Taste

Value

Ambience

  • Casual Japanese dine-in restaurant from the award-winning Teppei brand
  • Menu offers a wide variety across rice bowls, curry, bentos, udon and tempura
  • Plenty of seats although it can get packed during the peak lunch crowd
  • Spent about SGD ~20 per pax

Address: 1 Fusionopolis Pl, #01-30 Galaxis, Singapore 138522
Opening Hours: 11:00am to 08:30pm (Mon to Fri); 11:00am to 03:00pm (Sat & Sun)

Signature Kaisendon Set (SGD 22.5)

Taste

Value

  • Set consists of signature kaisendon, half-portion of plain udon and two sides
  • I chose tamagoyaki and crab cream Croquette (+SGD 2.50) for the sides
  • The signature kaisendon consisted of sashimi cubes, baby scallops, tuna, mekajiki and whelk, topped with ikura
  • Seafood was fresh and tasty but was unfortunately served with plain rice instead of sushi rice that had been seasoned with just rice vinegar, white sugar, and salt.
  • A peanut-based sauce was provided instead to mix in with the rice and seafood

Plain Udon (SGD 6)

Taste

Value

  • Silky udon noodles in a delicious dashi broth with some seaweed and fish cakes
  • Note that the image is for the half-portion served with the set meals

Crab Cream Croquette (SGD 3)

Taste

Value

  • Breaded and fried creamy crab meat
  • Sadly it was overly creamy such that you could not feel or taste any crab meat
  • Batter was nicely thin and crisp

Tamagoyaki (SGD 6)

Taste

Value

  • Sweet and savory Japanese rolled omelette flavored with dashi
