Da Dong Prawn Noodles: Crowd favourite at Joo Chiat Road

Overall

Taste

Value

Ambience

  • Stall is helmed by second generation hawkers
  • Rich and hearty prawn broth due to the incorporation of pork but sadly no refills
  • Make your order and have the food brought to your table
  • Long queues and difficulty finding tables during peak hours
  • On the pricier side versus other prawn noodles stalls
  • Spent about SGD ~10 per pax

Address: 354 Joo Chiat Rd, Singapore 427600
Opening Hours: 07:30am to 02:00pm (Wed to Mon)

Taste

Value

  • Soup is tastier than other prawn noodles stalls due to the additional pork flavor in the broth
  • Noodles are served along with peeled prawns and slices of pork meat
  • Fried pork lard is also added for additional flavor and crunch
  • Large portion was still quite small

Prawn Noodles Soup Dry (SGD 10)

Taste

Value

  • Dry noodles are served with a bowl of prawn broth so you don’t miss out on the soup
  • Noodles are served along with peeled prawns and slices of pork meat
  • Fried pork lard is also added for additional flavor and crunch
  • Although chilli is added, I found the dry version to be on the blander side
  • Large portion was still quite small
